SYMPHONIC BAND

The Buckhorn High School Symphonic Band is the central ensemble of the Spring semester.  The symphonic band consistently earns superior ratings at the annual Music Performance Assessment and recently, the band was awarded "Superior With Distinction", in recognition of near perfect scores, widely regarded as a significant achievement in the band community.  Membership generally numbers around eighty students.  Each Spring, the symphonic band holds a Spring concert, showcasing the hard work of the semester.  Programs are selected from some of the most challenging and quintessential pieces of the concert band repertoire.  The symphonic band rehearses each day during school, as well as one or more times a week in the afternoon or evening.  Auditions for symphonic band occur at the end of Fall or beginning of Spring semester, depending upon scheduling.  All students are required to audition for their placement and registration in the symphonic band ensemble.
