Marching Band Competition

EAT BREAKFAST before arriving!
8:30 – Call time @ band room to load trailers, triple checks (have everything needed, two meals or $$ for two meals (fast food / concessions) and souvenirs as desired, blanket + pillow for ride, change-out clothes for after performance. Students should be wearing “under uniform” attire upon arrival – band shirt.
9:30 – Load buses
9:45 – Depart Buckhorn HS
12:00 – Lunch at Riverchase Galleria in Hoover, AL
1:00 – Load buses + take roll
1:10 – Head to Hoover Met
1:30 – Arrive @ Hoover Met, sign-in, park
1:45 – Unload and dress
2:30 – Unofficial warm-up (water, bathroom breaks, final checks, stretch, think, breathe)
3:30 – Depart for official warm-up
3:45 – Official Warm-Up
4:15 – Depart warm-up
4:30 – BHSMB has fantastic performance!
4:45 – Return to trailer, dress out and load
5:30 – Students dismissed to the stadium to eat, sit together, and watch bands
*A variety of concessions will be available; if dietary restrictions, bring own food
*Students may not walk around independently or leave the stadium. They may get food, use the bathroom, visit vendors. Chaperones will be monitoring. We need to be sitting watching bands as much as possible – see attached schedule.
7:50 – Hoover Band Performs in exhibition
8:10 – Troy University Exhibition performance
8:30 – Awards Ceremony (will last longer than Siegel as each band’s ratings will be announced in traditional fashion, prior to caption awards for each class – see website.)
~9:30 – Head to buses
~10:00 – Depart Hoover
~12:00 – Arrive @ Buckhorn HS, unload
~12:30 – Dismissal / pick-up
