Important Meeting Jan 30
Our biggest fundraising event of the year is coming up (Saturday, February 10 – 10-5 in the cafeteria). It was literally the easiest fundraiser we’ve ever done and I typically do not enjoy fundraisers, just like you… but it’s necessary. It will NOT be successful if our parents and students don’t promote it. But that’s the great thing about this fundraiser – that’s ALL you have to do – just help us promote it and of course if YOU need or want a new mattress, get it here and benefit your own student AND the band. It is a ONE-DAY event opportunity with high potential!
We will be having an important parent meeting in 2 weeks – Tuesday, January 30th at 6:30 in the band room to go over some important details about how to make the event successful for your student and for the band! Mr. Charlie Colwell, from Custom Fundraising Solutions will be there to show us how simple it is. It should last 30-45 minutes.

I sent preliminary email information about a month ago and am pasting below for your convenience. PLEASE read it and PLEASE participate by joining the event on Facebook (texting the link to you today as well) and sharing it with anyone and everyone you know – and/or emailing/sharing the email info below to your friends, family, colleagues, etc. I am taking care of getting the word out to every school employee in our school cluster!
We need to get people who may at all be interested in a new mattress to come to the event and take advantage of the huge savings on name-brand mattresses. I bought my own fully adjustable bed last year and it has been amazing!
**They will also deliver to other parts of the country!

Buckhorn Band Parents and Students:
We will be hosting our 2nd Annual Mattress Sale Fundraising Event Saturday, February 10th in the BHS Cafeteria. The band/students made $7,000 on this one day event last year! Students make $25 per mattress sale referral and the band general fund gets $100 off of each sale! Below are all the details.
1. Help find people who need a mattress set and get them to commit to come by our sale on Saturday, February 10, 2018. (Give them a copy of the attached referral flyer for $50 off and to be sure you get credit!) Most of our sales will come from the efforts of parents and band members to find people who need a mattress set and would like to support your son/daughter and our band program. Although most of us don’t like fundraising, the reason we like this sale is because it is very easy for everyone. We just need to find people in our community, who want to support our program, and who need a mattress set. It ‘s that simple. Make phone calls, post on Facebook, email your friends, take flyers to work and church, even get the students to go door to door to neighbors they know, etc…. Just tell everyone you know about this sale, find people who need mattresses, and get them to come. The company we work with will take care of everything else.
***Here’s some quick information on the sale and products available – which you’ll want to share with people:
More than twenty mattress sets will be on display including top brands like Simmons, BeautyRest, Restonic, and Wellsville (the TempurPedic competitor I bought myself and has been awesome). Prices range from $249 to $2999 including every size. Prices go up from one set to another by ~$100 so there is something for everyone. All mattresses are priced 30%-50% off retail because the sale is at our school instead of a retail store. Firm, Plush, Pillow Top, Gel, Memory Foam, and Latex mattresses will be on display for people to try. They even offer awesome pillows and adjustable beds. Delivery is available as is free layaway, with no interest. Most importantly, every mattress set that is purchased helps support our Buckhorn Band Program!
2. Go to the dedicated Buckhorn Band Mattress Fundraiser facebook event page, “join” the event, and “invite” all your friends, and “share” future posting to help answer any questions about the event. If we have 100 parents, with 100 friends each, and we all do this, we have just reached 10,000 people! Please do this right away so you’re done ….the link is below.

Remember, band member earns at least $25 toward every referral sale. If 5 people buy a mattress/set, 5 sales will earn him/her $200! Plus, every sale helps our general fund even more!
This was fantastically successful last year and can be again with everyone doing the easy part – pitching it to people and getting them to come to the one day event.
