The Buckhorn High School Band is under the direction of Mr. David Raney since 1998. Mr. Raney is a graduate of Athens High School and The University of North Alabama where he participated in the UNA Jazz band, Jazz Combo, Marching Band, Concert Band, Trombone Choir, and various quintets.
Mr. Raney is currently serving as the ABA District One Vice-Chairman and has served on the Alabama Bandmasters Music Selection Committee. He was a guest conductor for the UNA Honor Band in 2009 and has served as a judged for various marching competitions across north Alabama.
Mr. Raney continues to play trombone for churches and organizations across north Alabama including the Moon Dust Big Band, Florence Area Big Band and the Athens Community Band.
At Buckhorn High School Mr. Raney has served as head of the technology committee, iSafe coordinator, as well as technology coordinator. |
