The Buckhorn High School Band is under the direction of Mr. David Raney since 1998. Mr. Raney is a graduate of Athens High School and attended the University of North Alabama where he participated in the UNA Jazz band, Jazz Combo, Marching Band, Concert Band, Trombone Choir, quintets as well as conducting quintet rehearsals.
Mr. Raney continues to play trombone for various churches and organizations including the UNA Alumni Big Band and the Athens Community Band. He has also served as band judge at various marching competitions across the state of Alabama and is presently serving on the ABA Music Selection Committee.
Mr. Raney presently teaches Band at Buckhorn, New Market and assists at Riverton Middle School. He has served as technology coordinator and head of the technology committee at Buckhorn High School. |
