Since we had the trip so late there were a few things we didn't have an opportunity to finalize before the end of the year. I thought I would try to cover EVERYTHING in a single article so get ready. GraduationThe graduation schedule is on the CALENDAR. Basically all students that need to pick up their instrument should be at the school at 3:30 and meet at the VBC by 4:45. I plan to leave the school at 3:45! We will not have a rehearsal at school as I originally planned that day so make sure you are there and ready to warm-up and rehearse on time at the VBC. Please allow an extra 15 minutes for traffic. We will follow Sparkman again and last year we had a horrible time getting into the arena. I recommend having someone drop you off in front of the VBC and the driver can go park or come back to pick you up after the ceremonies. Percussion should be at the school at 3:30 to help load the timpani and bass drum and should make plans to come back to school to unload after graduation. Instrument Returns Any student using a school owned instrument will need to return that instrument to the band room on Wednesday morning. If you would like to check out the instrument over the summer you must first return it so I can do an assessment and inventory check of all instruments. I will schedule a checkout time for those of you who would like to practice over the holiday. All personally owned instruments must be taken home immediately. Music Folders I have already taken up some music folders in the band room that did not have graduation music in them. I will have a list of people who still have music folders at graduation and you will need to turn those in after the ceremony. Trip Medication Returns Students were supposed to pick up medication after the trip. Any medications not picked up by Wednesday will be discarded. Summer Schedule During the course of this summer I will be scheduling work days to get a head start on moving everything back into the band room. I will start as soon as they clear me to move into the new band room. I will try to keep you abreast on the progress of our new facility. |
