First of all I would like to thank you for your patience as we have been working hard for a solution to our cancellation.  We had a lot of details to work out and I received a tremendous amount of support from Dr. Davis, Mr. Ledbetter and the travel agents during this time.  I think we have a solution that most all of you will like.

History

As we were leaving for Orlando I received several phone calls that resulted in coming back to Buckhorn High School. The State canceled all athletic events and due to our location we were given no choice but to cancel all school events.  I immediately started checking on various options we had in order to not lose our money.

Before I begin I must explain a few things about reimbursements.  Basically, when a park or hotel sells large blocks of rooms and tickets the sale is final and they do not offer refunds.  Our travel agent could not secure a refund for the tickets they bought or the rooms they paid for in advance but all of the companies agreed to postpone to a later date.  The only problem we had was finding dates the hotel was not booked during the school year.

Future

Our trip is now scheduled for May 17th - May 21st.  Our itinerary will basically be the same with different dates and has been updated on the band's calendar.  

School Conflicts:

• Final Exams - We will miss the Thursday final exams as we will be traveling back from Orlando on that day.  I was assured this would not be a problem and the details will be announced at a later time.
• Baccalaureate - This event will be at 2pm on May 17th and we will leave at 8pm as before.  There should be no conflict with this event.
• Senior Breakfast - Seniors will have to miss the senior breakfast.
• Top 10% banquet - Seniors will have to miss this event.

Medication:

• All medication has been given to the school nurse.  If you need your medication before we travel on the trip parents must sign out the medication through the school nurse.
• Any new medication that will be needed on the trip will need to be brought to the school nurse BEFORE May 13th.  We will not be taking up medication on the day of the trip again so your medication must be given directly to the school nurse to properly prepare the documentation.
