No OrlandoI would like to thank all the students and chaperons for their cooperation as we loaded and unloaded the buses last night.  As I said on the bus, I would like to ask that we all remain calm so we can determine what happened and see what options are available for the future.

As most of you know we were 30 minutes into our trip to Orlando when I received several phone calls that resulted in us being told to turn around and come back home.  It is my understanding that this decision was made due to requests from various Health and State Officials.  As we watch the news today we can certainly see there is a high amount of coverage across the country over this issue.  Regardless if you feel the decision was warranted or not I'm certain it was done in the best interest and safety of our students.

I spoke with Dr. Terry Davis (Superintendent) today and he expressed his gratitude toward the cooperation we gave during this ordeal.  He has been working very hard to make sure the correct decisions are made for the safety of everyone involved and offered support for our future plans.

At this point I am concentrating on what we can do to move forward.  I am currently speaking with the travel agent to determine our options.  Basically we have a choice between calling it off or postponing the trip to a later date.  I do not have a set of alternate dates at this time but should receive more information in the coming days.  I realize everyone may not be available for a future trip and we are working hard to find a fair solution for everyone.

If anyone purchased insurance I would like to ask that you wait until the waters calm before we pursue a claim.  I must say everyone in our school system has expressed concern and a desire to help us with this situation. I will keep you updated as new information is made available.
