All-State Orchestra

All-State Orchestra is often overlooked by band programs but there are active school orchestras across the state and the All-State Orchestra Festival requires woodwinds, brass, and percussion as well.  Please see the message below calling upon these kind of students to audition.  I would encourage interested students to try out for this as another incredibly top-notch opportunity to play with some of the best players in the state!

Dear Director,

Please note the following message from the AOA.

The Alabama Orchestra Association is hoping to get a large number of the talented woodwind/brass/percussion students across Alabama to audition for All-State Orchestra.  The program includes Rimsky Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol” and Shostakovich’s “Festive Overture,” both terrific pieces for wind players.

Registration is open until Sept. 27, and auditions are during the first two weekends in October, depending on region.  Excerpts, audition dates and registration can all be found at www.alabamaorchestraassociation.org.
